JRIG, DILG-SLGP presents PH-OGP Localization Playbook at National Orientation for Cohort LGUs
The De La Salle University - Jesse M. Robredo Institute of Governance (DLSU-JRIG) presented the Philippine Agenda for Localization of Open Government Partnership Localization (PH-OGP Localization) Playbook during the National Orientation for Cohort LGUs last February 13 and 18. DLSU-JRIG is the academe representative in the Philippine Open Government Partnership (PH-OGP) Steering Committee.
Organized by the Department of Interior and Local Government - Support for Local Governance Program (DILG-SLGP), the orientation onboarded cohort LGUs with foundational knowledge and guidelines that are vital in proceeding with the co-creation and implementation of their Open Government Flagship Programs.
Mr. John Benedict Felices, Program Manager of DLSU-JRIG, together with Ms. Dana Benedicto and Ms. Danela Dagdag, JRIG Program and Research Associates, presented a detailed walkthrough of the PH-OGP Localization Playbook, including the roles, responsibilities, and processes for developing their Flagship Programs. Last February 6, DLSU-JRIG also provided a walkthrough of the PH-OGP Localization Handbook and Playbook during the Stakeholders' Orientation for Regional Technical Teams (RTTs) as part of the DILG-SLGP's broader Stakeholders' Orientation Program on the PH-OGP Localization.
The event was attended by more than 300 participants over both days, comprising local chief executives, local government unit points of contact, CSO desk officers, partners, and RTT representatives nationwide.
The National Orientation was also graced by messages from DILG Undersecretary for Local Government Usec. Mario Iringan CESO III, Department of Budget and Management (DBM), Acting Assistant Secretary and Functional Group Head of the Local Government and Regional Operations Group, Atty. Ryan S. Lita, PH-OGP Non-Government Steering Committee Chairperson and MALAYA KA, Inc. Executive Director, Aurora R. Chavez-De Guzman, OGP Local Support Unit Lead, Mr. Jose Marin and Country and Local Programs Chief, Ms. Shreya Basu, OGP Asia and the Pacific Regional Lead, Ms. Swati Mehta, and DILG-SLGP Project Manager, Mr. Richard L. Villacorte.
