OPEN GOVERNMENT PARTNERSHIP

The Open Government aims to promote transparency and accountability in governance so that citizens are better able to participate in public decision-making. As a member of the Open Government Partnership (OGP) Steering Committee in the Philippines, the Institute provides advisory support on the development and direction of OGP in the country.

The Local Governance Program seeks to develop the capacity of local government units to effectively provide quality public services. In addition, the program’s objective is to promote partnerships between public and private stakeholders to work towards the collective goal of providing for the needs of their communities. This program not only works towards building the capacity of the public sector but also encourages the community to monitor the delivery of public services.


POLICY REVIEW

DLSU-JRIG provides policy advice to the following legislative bodies: Philippine Senate (Committee on Local Government) and House of Representatives (Committee on People’s Participation; Committee on Housing and Urban Development). The Institute engages with the Department of the Interior and Local Government, the Department of Budget and Management, and the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council in the development and implementation of programs.


SDG LAB

The SDG City Lab is a multi-stakeholder collaboration platform that strives to localize the 2030 UN SDGs. It is currently piloted in Manila City with the local government and translates the global goals into research-based programs built on key urban priorities, specifically clean air, community health, and tourism.
