Dr. Magno facilitates SDSN Meeting at DLSU with Dr. Jeffrey Sachs

Dr. Francisco Magno, Director of the De La Salle University - Jesse M. Robredo Institute of Governance (DLSU-JRIG), moderated the meeting of delegates from member institutions of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN)-Philippines with Dr. Jeffrey Sachs of Colombia University and President of SDSN held at DLSU Manila last January 21. Dr. Magno is the National Leadership Council Chairperson of the SDSN-Philippines.

The panel discussion was on the plans to organize a side-event at the ASEAN Summit that aims to focus on the role of universities in addressing SDG-related issues. These include localization, decarbonization, climate change, AI integration in the economy, and workforce development.

Along with Dr. Magno, JRIG Fellow Prof. Ed Nuque, JRIG Senior Policy and Governance Research Specialist Mr. Ian Jayson Hecita, DLSU Vice President for Research and Innovation Dr. Raymond Tan, DLSU Vice President for External Relations and Internationalization Dr. Anthony SF Chu, and DLSU University Sustainability Office (USO) Executive Director Mr. Carlos Antonio Maralit were also present in the meeting.

This participation in the SDSN-Philippines is part of De La Salle University's commitment to championing the broader goals of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), more particularly on building sustainable cities and communities and strengthening partnerships across public and private divide.
