Research Collaboration and Partnerships in works – JRIG, Malaysian Dignitaries

MANILA CITY, PHILIPPINES — The De La Salle University - Jesse M. Robredo Institute of Governance (DLSU-JRIG) hosted the courtesy visit of His Highness Yang Amat Mulia (YAM) Tunku Zain Al- 'Abidin ibni Tuanku Muhriz, Chancellor of UCSI University in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Founding President of The Institute of Democracy and Economic Affairs (IDEAS), and His Excellency Dato' Abdul Malik Melvin Castelino, Malaysian Ambassador to the Philippines last November 28, 2025.
Led by JRIG Director Dr. Francisco Magno and Program Manager Mr. John Benedict Felices, the courtesy visit discussed the formation of possible research collaborations and partnerships, particularly on the Institute's existing efforts on contributing to the localization of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including the project of the Institute’s SDG City Manila initiative on community tourism.
The courtesy visit also included the awarding of an SDG Visiting Fellowship to Ms. Ana Karina Jardin, Founder and CEO of Artdialogo Asia. Also present in the visit was Malaysian Tourism Attache Mr. Mohd Faizal Sharip, DLSU Vice President for Research and Innovation (VPRI) Dr. Raymond Tan, JRIG Senior Fellow Prof. Ed Nuque, and all staff and researchers of the Institute.
