JRIG awards “Visiting Fellowship” to seven distinguished individuals
MANILA CITY, PHILIPPINES — Seven (7) distinguished scholars were recognized as “Visiting Fellows” by the De La Salle University - Jesse M. Robredo Institute of Governance (DLSU-JRIG) during the Institutional yearend gathering held on December 16, 2025 at the DLSU Manila Roofdeck.
Being a distinguished engagement awarded to exemplary individuals for their enduring contributions to various fields, the JRIG Visiting Fellowship is both a recognition and commitment of these scholars in championing transparency, accountability, and participation in Philippine governance—core parts of the Institute’s values.
The seven (7) distinguished fellows recognized through this award include Dr. Fernando Zialcita, Dr. Leonora Angeles, Prof. Eddie Nuque, Dr. Michelle Renee Ching, Dr. Carmina Untalan, Dr. Socorro Reyes, and Ms. Georgina Romero. These awarded fellows will be working with the researchers and staff of the Institute for upcoming projects surrounding sustainable development, including community tourism, participatory governance, gender equality, and more.
Being awarded the JRIG Visiting Fellowship also entails them access to the Institute’s resources, including existing knowledge databases and networks, software, tools, and space that would aid in their research contributions. The fellowship was also seen as an avenue for knowledge sharing and mentorship among fellows, researchers, and future interns of the Institute.
In 2026, JRIG is also set to recognize DLSU-based distinguished faculties and staff as fellows who would join the team and contribute to their ongoing and upcoming projects. Details on this will be posted soon.
