JRIG, Australia Awards Advance Digital Transformation in Philippine Governance
MANILA CITY, PHILIPPINES — The De La Salle University - Jesse M. Robredo Institute of Governance (DLSU-JRIG), in partnership with Australia Awards - Philippines, marked a significant milestone in advancing digital transformation in the Philippine public sector through the “Colloquium and Culminating Activity of the Australia Awards Short Course on Digital Transformation (Dx) Phase 2: Vision to Action”, on May 30, 2025 at the ACE Hotel & Suites, Pasig City.
The event brought together leaders and practitioners from participating Philippine government agencies to present the culmination of eight months of intensive learning, planning, mentoring, and collaboration—the development of their respective Digital Transformation Implementation Plans (Dx IMPLANs). These plans would translate strategic vision into concrete, agency-level actions aimed at embedding digital transformation within governance systems to improve public service delivery.
During the colloquium, participating agencies showcased their Dx IMPLANs developed through a combination of structured training modules, coaching and mentoring sessions led by the JRIG team, and panel engagements with digital transformation and industry experts. Agency representatives also signed a Pledge of Commitment to underscore institutional accountability and long-term sustainability and affirm their dedication to implement and sustain their digital transformation initiatives beyond the duration of the course.
The event was attended by guests and partners from the Australian Embassy in the Philippines, Australia Awards Philippines, De La Salle University, and key government institutions, including the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Philippine Civil Service Commission (CSC), and the Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DEPDev). Certificates were awarded to participants who successfully completed all course requirements.
Taken together, the training modules, mentoring engagements, and culminating activity underscore the shared commitment of JRIG, Australia Awards, and participating government agencies to translate digital transformation from vision into action. As agencies move forward with implementation, the initiative stands as a testament to the power of collaborative capacity-building in shaping the future of digital governance in the Philippines.
This project forms part of DLSU-JRIG’s commitment to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in strengthening effective, accountable, and transparent institutions through digital transformation, building innovation and resilient digital infrastructure in the public sector, and reinforcing multi-stakeholder partnerships for sustainable development.
